1st February 2008 This week lorry loads of new sections for the new pontoon have been arriving and been craned off. I’m told it is being erected by a French company supplying the french workmen and there has been a good deal of activity all week with some parts in place

The Pontoon was removed last week ready for replacement/upgrade to the Causeway

The sections were sold off and are beingtaken to Queenborough in Kent.

(Its still the Causeway to me as that’s what we’ve always called it)

The pictures show what’s left of  it and one of six trailer loads being transported by lorry

Sunday’s midday tide on 25th November proved much higher than that expected when a surge was forecast a few weeks ago. I had a phone call telling me boats were sailing in the road in front of the Yacht Club by the time we arrived it had receded a bit although whilst I walked along to the houseboat area , duck punts were sailing there again, I just missed them
